Learning Objective #1
Objective: By the end of the internship program, I will increase the number of "likes" to 200 on Facebook for Rachel's restaurant. The "likes" on Facebook will help spread the word about the recently established restaurant, hopefully attracting new customers. I hope to test my social media marketing skills through this objective.
Learning Activities: I will monitor the Facebook page daily, while continuing to encourage at least two of my Facebook friends and others to spread the word about the page every day.
Evaluation: By the end of the summer semester, if the number of Facebook "likes" reach 200, I will have achieved my goal.
Reflection: This objective was not fulfilled because I had other urgent assignments and tasks to work on. When this objective was set, I did not realize that I would not have much extra time for this assignment after other tasks was given to me. I thought I would be able to juggle multiple tasks successfully all in one day, but it was harder than I thought it would be.
Learning Objective #2
Objective: By June 30th, I will have completed the final draft of the Web Flyer for Rachel's and it will be ready for the public. The Web Flyer will aid in advertising the new promotion and the new hours that the business is offering.
Learning Activities: I will work and check daily with the graphic designer and my Marketing supervisor to see how the flyer is coming along.
Evaluation: My work and performance will be determined depending on whether or not I complete the flyer by June 30th.
Reflection: This objective was partially fulfilled because the objective was met, but a little past the deadline that I had set. After meeting and discussing with the graphic designer and my supervisor several times for improvement, Rachel's flyer was completed and ready for the public. The flyer was not able to be completed by the deadline because I did not realize how busy the designer and my supervisor was and how hard it was to find time to meet with both of them.
Learning Objective #3
Objective: By July 6th, I will have completed my draft of an email for Le Rooftop to be mailed out to all of the business guest recipients. The professionally written email will invite them to view what Le Rooftop has to offer, such as the atmosphere and its foods.
Learning Activities: I will look at the email draft daily until June 30th to see if there is anything to add or edit. After I complete this process, I will ask my supervisor to proofread the email so that it is ready by July 6th.
Evaluation: My performance will be judged on whether I can complete the final draft of the email by July 6th.
Reflection: This objective was fulfilled because while I was working on this assignment, I was not given any other tasks, so I was able to solely focus on it. Once I got my supervisor's approval of the draft, it took me about a day to send all of the personalized emails for each recipient.
