I hold the title as a "marketing intern," but what does this position mean? From my point of view, I consider my role as a bridge between the company and the customers. It is the marketer's role to deliver any message the company wants to convey, whether it is through social media, email, phone, or face-to-face. I also see my role as a supporter. Since I am a marketing assistant, I believe my duty is to help with the tasks my marketing supervisor is working on. Just like the position states, I am here to assist my supervisor, so that work can be completed in the most efficient way as possible, allowing the company to run smoothly as well.
I am the only intern at the company currently, so I am the rookie. Since everyone else at the company is more experienced in dealing with business, I think they view me as someone they would like to help. Often, I get asked if I need help, and from time to time, my supervisor, my manger, and the other co-workers ask me how I am doing as an intern to check up on me.
I hope to make an impact to the company by showing that interns can make a difference, even though they may be working at the company only for a short period of time. My ultimate goal is to make an impact by bringing more business to Rachel's, which is the newest restaurant business of the company. I definitely have the resources and support to make my goal happen. I am working on several projects for Rachel's, that my supervisor assigned to me, to help promote the business. From time to time, I attend meetings to meet the founder of Rachel's with my supervisor and manager to brainstorm strategies to make Rachel's more successful. I am offered help quite often, so if I am ever struggling or in need of help, I will be able to receive guidance from any of my co-workers.
